5G Network Design
5G is far more complex than previous generations of mobile networks. There are several connectivity options based on existing network architecture and targets of an MNO. Operators can choose between NSA (Non-Stand Alone) and SA (Stand Alone) network structures depending on the services that they want to provide.

NSA structure allows MNOs to deploy 5G radio access network on top of existing 4G network without 5G core network. This kind of 5G network just provides Enhanced Mobile Broadband (eMBB) service. However, this structure has stringent requirements for the coordination of 4G and 5G networks. The 5G network should be designed very carefully to meet these requirements.
SA structure allows MNOs to deploy 5G network stand alone. In this structure 5G core network is deployed. This structure brings Enhanced Mobile Broadband (eMBB), Ultra-reliable and Low-latency Communications (uRLLC) and Massive Machine Type Communications (mMTC) services.
We help MNOs and MVNOs to design 5G NSA and/or 5G SA networks with end to end QoS (Quality of Service) design, Massive MIMO suggestions, coordination and interworking of 5G and 4G technologies, mobility and traffic management. We also provide technical network transition strategy guidance from 4G to 5G by also considering the developments in the mobile equipment ecosystem.
5G, 4G Network Planning, Dimensioning, Audit and Optimization
There is probably no mobile network with uniform traffic demand. Moreover, there are diverse traffic demand scenarios that change with respect to time and region. This creates challenges for Mobile Network Operators to turn these different types of demands into profit and it automatically brings the necessity of dynamic network capacity planning and dimensioning. We, with our expertise and technical background, are capable of supporting customers in iterative process of network planning and dimensioning in any level from forecasting till launch by aiming the desired goal with efficient usage of network resources. Whether it is a transmission planning to expand the coverage of the network or a complete forecast and dimensioning solution; the service that is delivered for network planning and dimensioning is perfectly customizable for customer needs and their unique topology and it guarantees the customers’ requested grade of service.
There are several optimisation approaches that can be adopted from pre-launch to a mature network. We offer a deep know-how to reach customer satisfaction in shortest time no matter in which level and complexity of the network is. The guaranteed KPI (Key Performance Indicator) improvement policy leaves no question marks for the customer and will ensure highest level of cooperation to reach the “better network” common goal.
A complete review of the network infrastructure is required for an MNO prior to a network expansion or implementing new technologies such as IoT and 5G. We deliver a complete audit report with the assessment of radio access networks providing information about traffic volume, transmission issues, utilization patterns, quality of service requirements. This audit report gives clear and comprehensive information about existing infrastructure therefore MNOs are able to see the snapshot of the network and define the list of requirements accordingly before the expansion.
Vendor Swap, Audit & Benchmarking
At times of investment on new technologies such as 5G, an MNO needs to understand several vendors’ quality, features, hardware roadmaps, integrity, delivery, service and support options. Based on the customers’ present situation, their goals in line with technology trends; we deliver vendor audit and benchmarking services by providing evaluation of available opportunities and their compatibility with the MNOs’ expectations.

Vendor swap is the equipment vendor replacement for the mobile network operators. Vendor swap projects need to be completed very carefully to not to affect the network accessibility and the quality. With our multi-vendor experience we help MNOs to swap their current equipment to other vendors seamlessly by minimizing the effect on network accessibility and quality.
Energy Audit & Saving
Energy consumption has been a significant consideration as it is one of the highest operating costs for many operators. It constitutes between 20 – 40% of total network OPEX.
Projected Impact of Energy Optimisation in 5G Networks
Left side of the figure is showing the Energy expenses among the network OPEX of the MNOs while the right side of the figure is showing the expectation of 2-3 times more energy consumption in the 5G networks comparing to the 4G networks.
We have a proven experience in energy saving projects. In 2021, we designed and implemented smart energy saving project that achieved 15% of energy saving with minimal traffic impact and reduced overall interference leading to higher throughput in Partner and Hot Mobile networks in Israel. Currently, we are conducting similar projects for the 5G networks around the globe.
By energy audit service, we provide what systems are in use, how much energy each system is using, which periods in a day energy is consumed intemperately and inefficiently. Following the audit report, we provide energy efficiency measures that need to be taken in the 5G and 4G networks.
